The Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea reference 116660 was introduced in 2008 as Rolex's professional deep-diving watch, featuring a 44mm stainless steel case and water resistance to 3,900 metres / 12,800 feet.
This example features the classic black dial with Chromalight luminous hour markers and hands, a date display at 3 o'clock and the characteristic “ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE / RING LOCK SYSTEM” text surrounding the dial.
The 44mm Oyster case incorporates Rolex's Ringlock System, comprising a thick domed sapphire crystal, high-strength internal compression ring and titanium-alloy caseback. The watch also features a helium escape valve designed for saturation diving.
The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a black Cerachrom ceramic insert with a 60-minute diving scale. The watch is fitted to a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Rolex Glidelock extension system.
Powering the reference 116660 is the Rolex calibre 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement with date function and approximately 48 hours of power reserve.
This example is accompanied by its original Rolex box and papers dated November 2016.
