Introduced in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Sea-Dweller, reference 126600 represented a major evolution of Rolex's professional diving watch. The case was increased from 40mm to 43mm, the new-generation Calibre 3235 was introduced, and for the first time on a Sea-Dweller, Rolex added a Cyclops lens over the date. Most notably, the black dial features the “SEA-DWELLER” name in red, paying tribute to the earliest Sea-Dweller models from 1967.
Crafted entirely from Oystersteel, the 43mm Oyster case is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a scratch-resistant black Cerachrom ceramic insert with a 60-minute diving scale. The intense black dial incorporates Rolex's highly legible Chromalight display, while the signature red Sea-Dweller lettering provides a distinctive contrast and makes this reference instantly recognisable. The watch is completed by the robust three-piece Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Rolex Glidelock extension system.
Powering the watch is the Rolex Manufacture Calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Designed as a serious professional diving instrument, the Sea-Dweller is waterproof to an exceptional 1,220 metres / 4,000 feet and incorporates Rolex's helium escape valve, Triplock screw-down crown and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with Cyclops date magnifier.
