A Patek Philippe Annual Calendar reference 5146/1J, manufactured in 2006, presented in 18ct yellow gold with a matching integrated yellow gold bracelet and cream-white dial.
The dial features three applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9 and 12 o'clock, yellow gold baton indexes and Super-LumiNova detailing. The annual calendar displays the day and month through subsidiary dials, with the date positioned in an aperture at 6 o'clock. A moon-phase display is positioned above the date, with a power-reserve indication at 12 o'clock.
Patek Philippe introduced its patented Annual Calendar mechanism in 1996. The system automatically accounts for months containing 30 or 31 days and requires only one manual calendar correction each year, at the end of February.
Reference 5146 was introduced in the mid-2000s as a 39mm evolution of Patek Philippe's Annual Calendar. The 5146 added a moon-phase display alongside the day, date, month and power-reserve indications.
This 5146/1J differs from the leather-strap 5146J through its full 18ct yellow gold bracelet. The bracelet is fitted with a Patek Philippe folding clasp, as shown in the photographs.
The watch is accompanied by its Patek Philippe presentation box and Extract from the Archives. The Extract records the watch as reference 5146/1 in 18ct yellow gold, with a cream-white dial, three Arabic numerals and baton-cut yellow gold indexes with Super-LumiNova, English version. It records the date of manufacture as 2006 and is dated 20 November 2006.
